Friday Favorites in Fives

Happy Friday folks! We made it though another week, and now it’s time to relax, lie on the couch, make tacos for dinner, and be in bed by 10pm. That is my plan and it sounds glorious. I have to physically and mentally prepare for running eighteen miles tomorrow morning, which means doing as little as possible in both senses.

Before I totally zone out, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite things. As an English teacher, I just can’t help myself; I have to use alliteration whenever possible.

  1. I do love alliteration. 🙂 I feel like we are the same person sometimes haha!
    Five deceptive foods:
    1. muffins (I think they should be called defrosted cupcakes, but that’s just my opinion)
    2. restaurant salads
    3. sushi rolls
    4. smoothies
    5. sweetened/flavored yogurt

    • Ha, I know – crazy amount of similarities! Maybe we were related in another life…
Good category! I would also add granola to that list. People often think it is healthy, but it often has tons of sugar and calories. Plus the serving size is normally so small, I know when I eat it, I probably eat two to three servings.

  2. Dark chocolate and overnight oats are on my list of favorites too! I recently made overnight oats with cappuccino yogurt…DELICIOUS! However, I love oatmeal any way I can get it 🙂

      • Publix, my local grocery store, has fat-free individual yogurt cups in a variety of flavors, including cappuccino. Some of my other favorites include caramel cream, cinnamon bun and vanilla. And yes, I also love coffee ice cream 🙂

  3. My 5 favorite childhood summer games:
    1. Kick the can using the surrounding neighborhood yards
    2. Wall ball at Huntley elem school
    3. Capture the Flag with Park and rec dept.
    4. Ghosts in the graveyard with the whole neighborhood
    5. Kickball in the street
